Sensitive content: death and dying; grieving the loss of a loved one. This week's episode is much heavier than you've heard on the show in a while, because my dear friend Alyse Dusseault has graciously agreed to share with you how she found her way to podcasting following the unthinkable loss of a loved one. We can get so busy running on the hamster wheel of content creation that we lose sight of what matters most: creating a meaningful and long-lasting relationship with our audience.
In this conversation with Alyse, you'll be reminded of how important it is to: podcast authentically; emotionally connect with your audience; be vulnerable in sharing your story; courageously lead conversations around heavy topics; show up on the mic with confidence (even before you're an expert); and most importantly, go give a hug to those you love most. I hope you find value and healing in this episode, and I really hope you find something that you can carry with you in a meaningful way.
ABOUT ALYSE DUSSEAULT:
As Alyse Dusseault started to experience extreme anxiety brought on by the grief of losing her fiancé when she was just 28 years old, a friend recommended she try reiki healing. Her first reiki session blew her away, because it resulted in her grief-driven anxiety completely dissipating. It was around that time that Alyse started exploring the many aspects of spirituality, and she started tapping into her own intuitive gifts. Unsurprisingly, she felt a strong connection to reiki and wanted to help others to experience the same healing energy that she did. As she learned how to “live” with her grief, she discovered a few things about connection, navigating relationships after loss, and how our relationships with departed loved ones can evolve even after they pass – and hence, her podcast Grief Awakening was born.

BE ADVISED:
On August 22, 2023, host Angie Griffith announced through publishing the 115th episode of the podcast that the heart of the show would be redirected towards Jesus and away from the new age spirituality and practices that are widely observed in the online business space. As such, all episodes published prior to this date may hint at new age practices that are no longer promoted by the host. Listener discernment is advised.
